Welcome to Faith on Fire Church Toowoomba

At Faith on Fire Church Toowoomba, we believe that church should be a place where you can meet a real God Who is active in people's lives. We believe God is good and giving, and He is working in the world today. God regularly moves to help and heal, and He will meet you where you are.

In a love response to this powerful, perfect, giving God, we choose to passionately seek to know Him more. The closer we get to Jesus, we seek to hear His voice and follow His lead on the biggest adventure of our lives. No matter what life brings, we choose to worship God with all our heart and soul.

Meeting God is the most important thing here, but finding your tribe matters too. When you visit, you will meet ordinary people who are doing life together, learning to follow after an extraordinary God. We would love to have you join us here in Toowoomba on this amazing journey.

Service Info

We meet Sundays at 9:30 am

What to expect at Faith on Fire Church

We meet each Sunday morning at 2D Station Street, Toowoomba. Our service begins at 9:30 am, and it usually lasts about an hour and a half. We want to allow the Holy Spirit time to move, so we don’t adhere to a strict timetable. You will find ample parking spaces in the public carpark across the street, and it is free on Sundays.

Worship

Every service starts with a time of pouring our hearts out to God through songs of worship. You might see people raise their hands, bow, or even dance as an expression of their love and gratitude to God. Our freedom in Christ spills over in extravagant praise to the One who rescues our lives. We encourage parents to draw your kids into worship with you. The little ones can teach us so much about loving with reckless abandon.

Preaching

After we give to God in worship, we give Him the chance to minister to us. Through the preaching of the Bible, the living word of God, God reveals His heart, plans, and ways to us. Each sermon is meant to equip you for living in a way that opens up the blessings of God. You will be encouraged and challenged.

Prayer Ministry

Some of the most powerful moments in God come as we take time to respond to what He has been speaking. Rather than letting the message slip away in the busyness of the day, we open the front of the church up for prayer. If you learn to respond, to get prayer, to linger in this holy moment, you give God the chance to work in your heart in powerful ways.

Fellowship

A big part of church is coming together with other followers of Jesus. We create a safe space to be yourself, to share your struggles and victories. We find strength as we share what God is doing in our lives. After each service, we make room for strong bonds to form with others as we do life together.

Meet our Pastors

Pastor Tim Happs and wife Kim (right)

Pastor Tim Happs with wife Kim

From the start of their relationship, Tim and Kim Happs have passionately poured themselves out to see the kingdom of God built and His people healed and free. They daily live out their belief that people are worth the investment, and they are readily available to the people around them.

Tim and Kim are pioneering this new work in Toowoomba, but they have been lead pastors in Australia for 11 years. They want everyone to have the chance to powerfully encounter God, leading to freedom and transformation. They have 7 kids and 11 grandkids. Along with their youngest son, they love to enjoy God's creation through camping and bushwalking.

In this broken world, people are hurting deeply, trying to hide their scars. Having walked through seasons of utter brokenness, Kim wants to see people healed and restored to a full, beautiful life, where scars are merely reminders of battles won and enemies conquered. You can find a link below to her book written to give hope to people broken by divorce.

What we believe

  • The Bible
The Bible is God’s revelation to humanity; the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12)

  • The Trinity
Our Creator and King eternally exists as one God in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3; Hebrews 1:1-3)

  • Jesus
The Heavenly Father sent His Son, Jesus, who being fully God and fully man became the substitute. He
allowed himself to be overcome by the full force of Satan’s violence on the cross. After being buried, He was bodily resurrected on the third day. (Isaiah 7:14, 9:7; Luke 1:26-38, 2:1-20, 24:1-53; Romans 4:25; 5:6-8; 1 Corinthians 15:1-57)

  • Holy Spirit
The present-day work of the Holy Spirit not only seals and cleanses, but it also empowers the Church.
Believers are invited to experience the baptism of the Holy Spirit along with many spiritual gifts. (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 4:30; Romans 8:11; 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:11; 12:1-11; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 2:3-4)

  • Mankind
Humanity was formed in God’s image to reflect His authority and purposes in the earth (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7; Psalm 8:4-8; 115:16). Nevertheless, creation rebelled against the creator (Genesis 3:1-24). Sin not only opened the door to evil, it created a separation from God that is impossible for man to overcome (Romans 5:12-14; Ephesians 2:3)

  • Salvation
The Kingdom of God came in the ministry of the Messiah. It continues to come in the ministry of the Holy Spirit through the Church, and will be consummated at the literal, physical return of Jesus (Isaiah 9:7-8; Matthew 10:7-8; Mark 1:14-15; Luke 11:20; Romans 5:17; 2 Timothy 2:11-12) At the final judgment, God will resurrect the righteous and transform all of creation (Romans 2:4-10; 1 Corinthians 15:26; Philippians 3:21; 1 Thess. 4:13-18). Satan and all who have rejected God’s love will be cast into the lake of fire (Matthew 13:41; John 12:31; Revelation 19:20-21; 20:10,14). Everything within all the cosmos will be made new (2 Corinthians 5:17; Hebrews 12:27; Revelation 21:5)

  • Eternal Life
We believe in the resurrection of believers into everlasting life and blessing in Heaven and the resurrection of unbelievers into everlasting punishment in the torments of Hell. (John 3:16; John 5:24; Mark 9:43-48; 2 Thess. 1:9; Rev. 20:10-15; John 5:28-29; 1 Cor.15:51-52)

  • The Return of Jesus
We believe in the personal, literal and bodily return of Jesus Christ in power and glory as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (1 Thess. 4:13-18; Zech. 14:5; Matt. 24:27, 30; Rev.1:7; Rev. 19:11-14; Rev. 20:1-6)

  • The Church
The Church is a vibrant community of believers who actively worship, pray, and fellowship as they apply the Bible to their lives. They are a unique channel of God’s initiatives here on earth. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 4:11-16; 12:13, 27-28; 14:12; Ephesians 2:19-22)
